Common questions

How do I start a ceremony?

Select 3–10 screenshots or images, choose a jury personality, and start judging. Keep Snap Gala open while analysis completes.

Does judging require an internet connection?

No. Text recognition, supported visual classification, and award generation run on your device. If a selected photo is stored only in iCloud, Apple’s photo picker may need a connection to download it first.

Why did my image get a generic award?

Not every screenshot contains readable text or a confidently recognizable visual theme. Snap Gala uses a generic award when the available signals are insufficient. It does not claim that every object or animal can be recognized.

How do I save or share an award?

Open Share Award from the winner screen, choose your style and format, then save to Photos or open the iOS share sheet. WhatsApp appears only if its installed sharing extension is available. For an Instagram Story, save the portrait card and choose it inside Instagram.

Can the original screenshot appear in my shared card?

Original image pixels are hidden by default. You can explicitly reveal them after a warning. Review the preview for private information before sending or saving the card.

Why can’t I save to Photos?

Snap Gala needs permission to add images to Photos. Check the app’s Photos permission in iOS Settings and try again. The app does not require full access to your library.

How do I clear my local session?

Open Snap Gala Settings and use Clear Session Data. This clears the active ceremony and recent joke history while preserving your jury and onboarding preferences. Copies already saved to Photos or sent to other apps must be deleted separately.

Can I change a verdict?

Roast Again varies the wording while keeping the award’s theme, score, and ranking. To judge different images, start a new ceremony.
