Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Snap Gala processes information in the iOS app, on this support website, and when you contact support.
1. Images and on-device analysis
You choose images through Apple’s photo picker. Snap Gala does not enumerate your photo library or request full-library read access. Selected images are used to create previews, recognize text, and classify supported visual content with Apple Vision on your device. A local, rule-based engine generates English awards and jury commentary.
Snap Gala does not upload screenshots, recognized text, classification results, or awards to a developer-operated server or external AI service. Local judging works offline once the selected images are available on your device. Apple’s picker may need a connection to retrieve images stored only in iCloud.
2. Local storage and preferences
Selected images, analysis, awards, and rankings are held in memory during the current session. Analysis may be reused for the same image during that session. Starting a new ceremony, clearing session data, or a memory-pressure reset releases this information. There is no persistent ceremony archive.
Jury selection, onboarding completion, and a bounded history of recent joke template identifiers are stored in local preferences. These identifiers contain no original images, recognized text, names, or screenshot identifiers. Your device’s backup settings may apply to these preferences.
3. Saving and sharing
Original screenshot pixels are hidden on award cards by default. Revealing an original image requires an explicit choice and a privacy warning. Review a card for personal information before sharing.
When you choose a sharing action, Snap Gala creates a temporary PNG for the iOS share sheet. Temporary sharing files are removed after the share sheet is dismissed or on the next app launch. A destination app receives the card only through the sharing action you choose. Snap Gala does not select recipients or publish posts automatically. Other apps process shared content under their own policies.
Saving a card to Photos requests add-only permission. Saved images may sync according to your Apple and iCloud settings. The Instagram Story workflow creates a portrait image that you can save and publish yourself inside Instagram. Clearing Snap Gala’s session does not delete copies saved to Photos or delivered to other apps.
4. Tracking, advertising, and diagnostics
The app contains no advertising SDK, app-owned analytics, tracking integration, or remote crash-reporting client. It has no account system or subscription. Screenshot contents, extracted text, and classification results are not written to app debug logs. Apple’s operating system, TestFlight, Photos, and sharing destinations may process information under their own policies and your settings.
5. This website
This is a static support website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. We do not add analytics scripts, advertising, contact forms, tracking pixels, or cookies. Cloudflare processes website requests, including technical information such as IP addresses and request metadata, to deliver and secure the site. This website hosting is separate from the app’s offline judging and does not receive screenshot analysis.

6. Email support
If you email support, we receive your email address and anything you include in your message. We use this information to respond, troubleshoot, and maintain the support conversation. Support mail is handled through Proton Mail under its own privacy policy. Please avoid sending private screenshots or sensitive personal details.
Support correspondence is retained only as needed to handle your request and meet applicable obligations. You can ask us to delete correspondence or exercise applicable privacy rights by contacting the address above.
7. Your controls
You can cancel analysis, keep originals hidden, manage Photos permission in iOS Settings, and clear session data and recent joke history in Snap Gala Settings. Clearing session data preserves jury and onboarding preferences. Removing the app removes its local app data, subject to your device backup and restore settings. Saved or shared copies must be removed separately from their destinations.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the app or our practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version. For support or privacy questions, contact snapgala.support@proton.me.
